SATURDAY, 04 MARCH 2017 09:10 AM ADMINISTRATION OFFICE
Dear Parents, As you might or might not be aware our Leeming Chinese School is a Not-For-Profit entity. We are powered by volunteering parents when it comes to running and managing the school. You can make a difference and have your say on how the school is run.
Have you ever asked yourself how is the school actually managed? Who makes the decisions in regard to the quality of your child education? What are the criteria for some students being awarded the Top Student awards? Or Why am I not kept up-to-date by the school about the upcoming events? Where can I borrow books from the school? Who can I complain to? How can I make suggestions? Etc.All the above questions can be easily answered if you attend the upcoming MEET & GREET SESSION. This event provides you with the opportunities to ask questions, convey to us your complaints as well as make any suggestions for improvements.
The School Management Committee, as a parent representational body, is organizing this meeting to update you about the school and answer any questions which you might have. We would like you to feel connected and be part of the school community. It will be an informal, fun and informative gathering for approx. ¾ hour.
We will provide canteen foods, coffee and tea for your refreshment.I strongly urge you to attend the session and mingle amongst other parents. Please get involved so that we can make our school a better and improved environment for our children.
Kind regards, Suardi Sumiati – Chairman On behalf of the School Management Committee (SMC) – Leeming

Welcome New Students and Families!
We’re glad that you’ve decided to be a part of our vibrant school community.
You’ve joined a school where the staff are passionate about teaching language and culture in a fun way, and where all the parents chip in and volunteer, whether it be ad-hoc, in a regular canteen or library duty, or in the school management committee.
You’ve joined a school where it’s not just about language, its also about culture. We hold big festival celebrations throughout the year and encourage the learning of cultural actives in our various ECA classes.
When you get to school for the first time, new families please make your way to the office so someone can help you.
Please note:
All classes except Playgroup start at 9am, break at 10.10am for recess when they can visit the canteen or library, go back to class at 10.30am then stop at 11.30am. ECA cultural classes run from 11.30am till 12.30pm.
You must keep your contact details up to date in case of emergency.
You are welcome to park in Car Park 1 and 2 only, but there is plenty of street parking as well. If you are attending an ECA class we recommend you use street parking or Car Park 1 as Car Park 2 is locked earlier. Drive slowly as young children tend to dart out.
We send out quarterly newsletters to let parents know what’s been happening at school. Please check your junk mail.
Don’t be too shy to ask the other parents and staff for information and assistance, everyone remembers what it’s like to be new.

Dear Parents, On Saturday the 18th of March the WAFL season kicks off at East Fremantle oval with the Sharks taking on Claremont at 2.15pm. This game represents the start of Harmony week and as such the East Fremantle Football Club would like to welcome the Chung Wah Community to participate in the half time game.
This invitation is a result of Chung Wah’s continued support in the AFL football programs, especially the Saturday sessions that was held at both Leeming and Rossmoyne in 2016.

All participating students will be dressed in sharks’ Guernsey before the game. The entry for students, parents, grandparents or even accompanying friends and relatives are free. For those of you who have never been to a footy stadium or watch a game this will be a good and free opportunity.
Here are some of the details: Details of the day: – Players are asked to arrive at the Moss st, East Fremantle, gate at 1.30pm. It is important all players and parents enter the ground at the specified time so the gate staff can let them all in, in one go. – The kids will be briefed and taken into the stands to watch the first quarter of the Sharks game. At quarter time the Chung Wah players will be taken into the change rooms to get ready. – At the start of half time of the WAFL game, the kids will run onto the oval to play in front of 2000 people. – After their game, the kids will be taken for a tour through the change rooms and will collect their gear/giveaways.

About Us:
Chung Wah Chinese School Leeming is a not for profit, teacher and volunteer powered community school, and has been since it was set up in 1991 by Chung Wah Association Inc. Students and Parents love connecting with one another and having the chance to learn and express themselves in their mother tongue and celebrate traditional festivities. For families of any ethnicity or language background who want their child to learn Mandarin, we operate Saturday morning language classes and cultural activity classes. Help us help your child by becoming a parent volunteer (ask us for more information).
Just a reminder that Saturday, 12/11 is the last day for borrowing books because we are conducting a major stocktake.
We have already commenced our stock take now. Please help us in this process by returning books on their due dates.
Please do keep borrowing until 12/11/16. After that, we will required all the books back as soon as possible so we can have a better organised library for the start of next year.
Thanking you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
