MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL CELEBRATION
It is now again the time to celebrate the most anticipated annual event of the school calendar for all three Chung Wah Chinese School. It is the only event where all three campuses from Leeming, Morley and Rossmoyne get together to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Chung Wah Chinese School will be celebrating the annual Mid-Autumn Festival at the Balcatta cultural centre on Saturday, 17 September 2016 commencing at 5:00 pm (prompt), and we would like to invite all of you to attend the event.
This year’s celebration will be a magnificent event where greater emphasis has been placed on the quality and professionalism of the shows. We have also enlisted a semi-professional dance group to perform the theme of the event “Seven Fairy Sisters” as the opening act. The fairies after their appearance will mingle with the crowd for opportunity to have their photos taken.
Further, we will also be entertained by a professional MC Ms. Hui Lin who has a well-known personality amongst the Perth Chinese community. Not to forget is also the Chung Wah’s own Lion Dance Troupe which will contribute to the event where 6 brand new Baby Lions will be eye-dotted. Notwithstanding all the above great performers the centre point of the celebration will always be our students who will get the chance to perform and showcase what they have learned every Saturday in our Chinese school.
For our younger students (in fact all students including their parents) there will be a costume parade on the stage. Hence, we encourage all of you and your children to come to the event wearing your most beautiful traditional Chinese costumes. We will give away goodie-bags!!
Enriching the celebration are a variety of stalls which will be providing sales of foods, art and crafts, AFL stall, and much more. Guests can indulge in traditional sweet and savoury foods such as Nasi Lemak, Fried Bee Hoon, Taro Kuih, Curry Puff, Rice Flour Dumpling, Moon Cakes, Crispy cream, drinks and etc.
This year the event committee has introduced a ticketed entry event where all guests will be required to contribute a small fee of $5 per person. In return all tickets holder will be eligible to enter into door prizes. The good news is reserved for all our students and volunteers! They will be given each an entry ticket for free. Please check your child’s bag for the free entry ticket which will be given out on Saturday, 10th September.
